Turn on your TV and show me somewhere where peace can be found in the world. We’ve had an administration and corrupt media which have done everything possible to keep peace out of the equation. Everything we hear coming out of their mouths is racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, Islamophobia. It’s all about dividing and pitting us against each other; black’s against white’s, men against women, poor against rich, Christian’s against Muslim’s, and on it goes.
It seems we have returned to the 1960’s and the push for Marxism in our Country has never been stronger. We are reliving the days of the Weather Underground, Abby Hoffman, and the Black Panthers. Violence is rampant with groups like Black Lives Matter, and all the other paid activists rioting and causing destruction in our streets.
So, where can peace can be found?
I think you probably know where I’m going with this. We have some great examples of finding peace during great trials in the Bible. Think about when Paul and Silas were in prison after being beaten and their feet put in stocks for sharing the Word of God. What was their response to this violence and humiliation? They sang hymns to God. Although they had to be in terrible pain and extremely uncomfortable, they had peace. How is that possible? There is only one way to find peace when life is turbulent, and that is in God, the peace of God which surpasses all understanding.
Colossians 3:14-16 14
But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
So, we are to put on love which is the bond of perfection, and we are to let the peace of God rule our hearts. The only way to do that is to be close to God, to walk with him, to commune with him, to daily read his word and to pray always.
Philippians 4:6-8
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
So we are not to be anxious about what is going on around us. We are to go to God in prayer, supplication and thanksgiving and ask him for his peace, that peace that surpasses all understanding, and he will give it to us. Sometimes we may need to look to our families, our churches and of course the wonderful things of God to be able to see those things that our true, and noble, and just, and lovely or of good report to find the things that are praiseworthy and meditate on them.
I don’t know what the future holds, but if you are in Christ, you will be ok in the end. I believe we are living in the end times although there are things that must happen before we can know for sure. We may have 5, 10 or maybe even 20 years, of course it could be less as well. If you are not currently walking with Christ to the fullest, you need to fix that immediately. There will come a time when we least expect it that the Bridegroom will return, and there will be those who will be caught without enough oil for their lamp and be left our of the Marriage Supper. You DO NOT want to be one of them.
It is time to do what I have mentioned in many of my posts, and if you haven’t already be working on it, you need to start immediately; start cultivating nobility, chivalry, valor; and training to be a spiritual warrior. Those are the characteristics God needs working in his Saints. There is a spiritual war going on, and if you’re not girded up for this war, there’s a good chance you could end up a casualty of it.
