I want to share some very heavy, but very important scriptures with you today. These scriptures were prophecies given to an ancient Israel, but I believe they are just as applicable to us here and now. If we are Christ’s, then we are indeed spiritual Israel, and the future bride of Christ. So, being spiritual Israel we have to ask ourselves, could we be living and doing some of the same things ancient Israel did? Could our society have become like theirs rampant with spiritual adultery, self interest and sin? If so, it stands to reason since God loves us, He would want to give us the same warning and chance to repent that He gave to them.
Ladies and gentlemen, God is not happy with us. The world laments about the foolish action of a dentist who killed a lion for sport. People are calling for him to be extradited back to Africa to be locked up for many years. Others are calling for all people to boycott his business and ruin the man. Yet we have an abortion industry that we now learn has been illegally butchering babies and selling their body parts for profit, and there is hardly a grown from most people.
Our government and a segment of society seem hell bent on causing a race war. The family unit is being systematically destroyed, parents rights are being usurped, and PC insanity has become rampant throughout the land. You can hardly say “God” in public without fear of retribution or chiding. More and more children are being born out of wedlock, while the institution of marriage is being destroyed and made a mockery. On top of that more and more polices are being put in place that reject’s God and His authority. Christians are being persecuted as being hate mongers, while were being told that Islam is a religion of peace. This country, as well as, this world has gone absolutely nuts. Didn’t Isaiah prophecy of such a time? What was once good is now bad and what was once light has now become darkness.
Isaiah 5:20
20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Hear what God says to us.
Isaiah 1:2-6 (NKJV)
2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth!
For the Lord has spoken:
“I have nourished and brought up children,
And they have rebelled against Me;
3 The ox knows its owner
And the donkey its master’s crib;
But Israel does not know,
My people do not consider.”
4 Alas, sinful nation,
A people laden with iniquity,
A brood of evildoers,
Children who are corrupters!
They have forsaken the Lord,
They have provoked to anger
The Holy One of Israel,
They have turned away backward.
5 Why should you be stricken again?
You will revolt more and more.
The whole head is sick,
And the whole heart faints.
6 From the sole of the foot even to the head,
There is no soundness in it,
But wounds and bruises and putrefying sores;
They have not been closed or bound up,
Or soothed with ointment.
“The whole head is sick.” Our government and career politicians are corrupt to the core. They say anything to get elected, but serve only special interest that grease their palms. They no longer care about the will or interest of the people and our Constitution. They no longer acknowledge God as the one who blessed this land and gives us our freedoms. The three branches of government are no longer separate powers, instead they are there for show. Our supreme court is now making laws instead of interpreting them. Our president no longer acts as a president, but instead has given himself the power of an emperor. Our congress has become weak and ineffective and serves only those who help keep them in power. “The whole head is sick”.
“The whole heart faints.” Many of our churches have become corrupt as well. We have Christian churches welcoming unrepentant gay couples and transgenders to fellowship with them. All people who repent and want to change should be invited to fellowship, but people who are openly and unapologetic about their sin should not be in my opinion. Many of our churches no longer teach from the scriptures, but preach feel good and prosperity messages. All the messages are about love, love, love, and hardly anything about obedience and loyalty to God, overcoming sin, helping others, changing your ways and making yourself ready for the Bridegroom. These churches have become prosperous businesses and their preachers have become highly paid rock stars. “The whole heart faints.”
We as a people have become lazy and now worship the god of government and business, instead of the true God. We have become spiritual adulterers seeking after the lusts of our hearts. It seems the more prosperous we get as a nation, the more we turn our back on God and trust in our own abilities and ways. God is despised in our government, our schools and our public square. Do we really think we can reject God and continue to live the good life?
Jeremiah 5:23-31 (NKJV)
23 But this people has a defiant and rebellious heart;
They have revolted and departed.
24 They do not say in their heart,
“Let us now fear the Lord our God,
Who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season.
He reserves for us the appointed weeks of the harvest.”
25 Your iniquities have turned these things away,
And your sins have withheld good from you.
26 ‘For among My people are found wicked men;
They lie in wait as one who sets snares;
They set a trap;
They catch men.
27 As a cage is full of birds,
So their houses are full of deceit.
Therefore they have become great and grown rich.
28 They have grown fat, they are sleek;
Yes, they surpass the deeds of the wicked;
They do not plead the cause,
The cause of the fatherless;
Yet they prosper,
And the right of the needy they do not defend.
29 Shall I not punish them for these things?’ says the Lord.
‘Shall I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this?’
30 “An astonishing and horrible thing
Has been committed in the land:
31 The prophets prophesy falsely,
And the priests rule by their own power;
And My people love to have it so.
But what will you do in the end?
These prophecies should give us all chills.
I am not a prophet, but I have a book that is full prophet’s words. Some might think that these prophecies were just applicable to ancient Israel, but they’d be wrong. Many of these prophecies are duel prophecies for the simple reason that human nature doesn’t change, and neither does God. So, as man did before, he is doing again only with technology making it bigger and broader.
Looking at the present world and all that is happening, I find it difficult to believe our time isn’t growing short. Could Christ return in our life time? I can’t say for sure, but it certainly seems possible to me. With that said, there are a lot of things that have to happen first. The thing is, a financial melt down of the world economies and or a major natural or man made disaster could very easily send us on a death spiral which could lead to the beginning of the great tribulation. You have to admit that sin and insane behavior is rising exponentially, and I believe beyond anything that man can fix.
Revelation 12:11-13 (NKJV)
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.” 13 Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child.
It’s time to make ourselves ready, for we know not which hour our Savior will return. Are we ready to overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and His testimony, and are we willing to lay down our lives if necessary for that testimony?
